Nellwood's kennel was founded by my mother and I in 1978 and in the beginning we bred rough collie, but we also had some other breeds. Our collies were from the wellknown Steadwyn and Steadlyn kennels and we had some success in the showrings and in our breeding with them.

I have always been interested in all aspects of dogs and I have taken some courses in breeding (Swedish Kennel Club, SKK), genetics, ethology, animal nursing (Institute of Advanced Studies) and I am an obedience instructor (Svenska Brukshundklubben).

My first litter of chows was born in 2003, when I bred my first red rough bitch Kringelmyras Kiran to the red rough dog Ch Kringelmyras Herkules. The litter consisted of two red dogs and two red bitches.
In 2007 my second litter was born and the fawn bitch Nellwood's Yu Lin was exported to Denmark, where she has had a successful start in the showrings and became a Swedish champion in the beginning of 2009. Fawn litter sister Yu Kun has been shown a few times as well.

In our breeding we focus on mentally and physically healthy chows that is according to the standard. We follow the breeding recommendations issued by the breed club, Chow Chow Ringen.

Our chows live with us and have big spaces to run free and we take them for daily walks in the woods.
